Charlotte and Daniel invited me into their home last week to take their engagement photos. After already being engaged for 10 or so months, the couple was comfortable in front of the camera and eagerly talked about their upcoming wedding.
When they booked me for their wedding last year, we discussed holding off on engagement photos until they moved into their new home in Waltham. I am so glad we did. Photographing in their new neighborhood felt warm and inviting. Something about shooting in someone's "space" brings a realness to the images. Makes them seem more genuine than a posted shot next to the swan boats. Don't get me wrong, I love those shots too.
Last couple shots, we had the dog and cats join in for a family photo. In true family fashion, it was hard to get everyone to pose still. Much like children, animals are hard to direct. I love the laughs in the photos as we try to keep the animals still and looking at the camera. They are real and true to Charlotte and Daniel's day to day life.
I can't wait to shoot their wedding in June and share the images from their intimate day.
