A couple weekends ago I had the honor of shooting Katie and Dan's Wedding in Amagansett, NY. I arrived Friday night for the clambake at Indian Wells Beach with fresh lobster, clams and mussels. I met Beatrice, Katie and Dan's 4 month old daughter who is quite possibly the cutest baby I ever lay my eyes on (even more so when she wore her flower crown as she was carried down the aisle). Their dog Frank also had a little tux for the ceremony. He wore his longer than Beatrice did her outfit.
Appropriately the wedding was held at Amber Waves Farm, Katie and her Maid of Honor Amanda's farm right off of Main Street. After the ceremony guests were led to a small patch by the entrance where they were asked to help plant a tree. A symbolic measure of their love that began on the property that led to their engagement, their first born and now their wedding.
It was the perfect long table setting in the field with assigned "flower" or "fence" side seating. Outstanding in the Field catered and served a 5 course farm to table dinner. Everything was provided from the farm, from the flowers on the table to the colorful red and green heirloom tomatoes. The DJ played old 45 records till late. Dessert was provided by local Carissa's Bakery. She made not one, but 5 cakes and numerous pies for the guests. Per Katie's request, we ventured into the field for some photos in the flowers in her reception look, the most beautiful beading and champagne colored gown.
If you are ever in the Hamptons, I highly suggest you visit Amber Waves FArm. You are guaranteed to be greeted like family, leave with the most savory and sweet groceries and memories that make you never want to leave Amagansett.
